#10 Neon Trees – “Trust”:
What begins as a mid-tempo piano ballad, quickly explodes into some 80′s power synths. Check out the way the bass kicks in at the 1:42 mark; how bad ass is that? Hints of (dare I say) Freddie Mercury come to mind as frontman Tyler Glenn shouts “..don’t lie to me when the pressures on, you gotta have trust..” The entire album, “Picture Show” is bursting with energy while undoubtedly coming to light as more polished than their debut album,“Habits”. Little did the crowd at O2 Brixton Academy know that they were in for a real treat as Foster The People and Luke Pritchard from The Kooks surprised the crowd with a cover from Alabama Shakes. The entire venue turned into a giant choral sing-along during this really awesome cover. Continue reading
I’m sure this happens to you all the time; you’re watching TV when a commercial with a really catchy song comes on. You think to yourself, who sings this song? You could attempt to pull out your Shazam app before the commercial ends, but that doesn’t always work. Lucky for you you’ve stumbled into the right music blog. With this post I’ll share some of my favorite songs from commercials that you may or may not have known. Enjoy.
With so much music out there it’s sometimes hard to find those really good bands that you connect with.
